Our Kentucky Home

Our home, listed as "The Susan Hammond House" on the Kentucky Register of Historic Homes, was built in 1856 by the Hammond Family.   Originally sitting on a 1,500 acre farm which was part of a land grant received by the Hammonds in the 1780's, the house remained in the Hammond family until 1967 and was spared major alterations.  After 1967, it passed through numerous owners and the original property was sub-divided many times.  By the time we purchased it in 1985, it had fallen into disrepair and had been on the market for over a year.   Since our purchase in 1985, we have been involved in on-going repairs and much more still waits to be done.  The following links  lead to three series of pictures:

House
These pictures show the house as it now exists and also how it looked prior to and during the reconstruction.

Property
Pictures show the eight out-buildings on the property as well as some views of the land itself.

Rooms
Two rooms in the house, the living room and hall, are shown.  These are representative of the remaining rooms in the house.

Enjoy the tour!
